| Survey Information
Surveys are normally carried out once in summer
and once during winter, additional surveys may
be required as follows:-
•
After the installation of new racking.
• When existing racking
is moved or
• When major adjustments
have been made to the existing heating/ventilation
systems as these adjustments will
affect the airflow within the storage area.
The survey will reveal the location of any hot and cold spots within the facility, identifying potential irregularity in the heating/refrigeration systems. Once an irregularity has been found it may be necessary to avoid storing products at that specific location or take remedial action to rectify the situation. The survey will also identify the effects on the ambient temperatures of doors opening and closing, particularly relevant where there is vehicle entry and exit. The data will identify the recovery time of the installation to its normal operating parameters and can be used to help determine the ideal distances of racking from these access points.
Temperature
loggers are placed throughout the facility by
TeDaC and are left in situ typically for a minimum
of 7 days, during which time normal facility
operations are unaffected during the mapping
process. The loggers are then collected and
the information downloaded to PC from which
a full report is produced.
All
temperature loggers are calibrated on a six
monthly basis and calibration is traceable to
UKAS, copies of the calibration certificates
are provided within the report. 3 point calibration is used as standard; however, more points can be included if required. It is also possible to carry out pre and post survey calibration if specified by the client.
The
price of each mapping survey is dependant on
a variety of factors including the size of the
facility and the number of calibration points
required. TeDaC would be happy to discuss your
requirements and provide a free no obligation
quote. |
